Financial Analyst
The Collections Specialist will work with our Litigation & Disputes team to oversee the collections activities for a major client. Primary responsibilities include calling opposing parties to discuss unpaid balances, working with the internal team on offer proposals and communicating offers to the business. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of collections experience with a solid knowledge of commercial credit and collection laws, and strong negotiating and professional communication skills.

The Collections Specialist is an hourly non-exempt position and will work onsite at our Columbus, Ohio office.
What You'll Do- Regularly call opposing business parties to discuss unpaid balances (approximately 90% of your day).
- Work with the internal team to negotiate offer proposals with opposing parties and clients.
- Plan, evaluate, implement and continuously improve all aspects of credit and collection functions and processes.
- Assist in formulating and achieving collection objectives.
- Ensure professional relationships are established and maintained with clients, vendors, and opposing parties.
- Directly interact with selected clients to resolve receivables delinquencies.
- Minimum of an associate's degree in accounting (or business-related field) preferred.
- Two or more years of collections agency experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong negotiating skills with a solid knowledge of commercial credit and collection laws.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a variety of vendors, clients, opposing parties, and colleagues.
- Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Must possess a strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements- Sitting frequently, six out of eight hours per day. Sitting position static for up to one half hour at a time.
- Lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day.
- Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one half hour per day.
