Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and financial reporting across a growing, multi-entity organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will be responsible for month-end close, audit management, fixed asset accounting, process improvement, and oversight of AP and AR. The Controller will play a key role in strengthening controls, improving automation, and preparing the organization for continued growth and future ERP implementation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of standardized reporting packages for management, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Major assist in the management and coordination of external audits, including audit planning, support, and completion.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and system improvements.
- Help establish consistent accounting policies and best practices across all operating entities.
- Provide oversight of Accounts Payable, including spend review, controls, and process improvements.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable operations, ensuring accurate billing and timely collections.
- Support treasury operations, including cash forecasting, bank reconciliations, ACH/wire payments, and positive pay.
- Oversee loan accounting and reporting for a large loan portfolio.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with the CFO.
- Manage compliance and regulatory reporting requirements as needed.
- Play a key role in future ERP selection and implementation, including upgrades from Quick Books.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Experience leading accounting teams and improving processes through automation.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance hands-on work with strategic leadership.
