Financial Systems Senior Analyst II (One Stream) – BDO USA

The Financial Systems (FS) Senior Analyst II maps business requirements to application functionality, leads continuous improvement, creates business cases for system configuration meetings, and ensures alignment between business processes and financial data management. This role analyzes complex business and system issues, collaborates with stakeholders, and provides technical and analytical support across the finance organization.

• Provides financial systems and data support based on the alignment of business processes within the financial systems platform.
• Assists the business with performing queries and defining report requirements for analysis and distribution to practice managers.
• Communicates effectively with business users/owners, proactively proposes solutions, and provides accurate answers to business inquiries.
• Updates system inquiries accurately and in a timely manner.
• Develops solutions for financial systems data analysis, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, and communication.
• Performs functional research or data mining to identify key performance measures and indicators that drive reporting and analytics.
• Assists workstream business owners in developing test scripts, policies, and procedures.
• Performs financial system configurations independently to meet business requirements.
• Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in support issues and financial data, recommending actions and solutions.
• Participates in cross‑functional teams to identify business risks and create analytics and dashboards.
• Executes financial systems activities as defined in the project plan and milestone assignments.
• Leads the planning phase proactively, as needed.
• Collaborates with IT, Financial Systems, and business teams to drive system efficiencies.
• Configures and maintains financial system security, promptly responding to security inquiries and documenting changes.
• Ensures integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data when configuring security access.
• Engages with management or Internal Audit to clarify security requests promptly.
• Demonstrates understanding of business process workflows and how financial applications support them.
• Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies within financial systems or business processes.
• Contributes to defining, planning, coordinating, and executing financial systems updates.
• Participates in the internal audit of financial systems procedures, presenting evidence of executed processes.
• Supports and works with team members when trends or problem resolutions indicate system issues.
• Develops and maintains FAQ documents to support resolution of end‑user inquiries.
• Performs queries of the financial database for internal/external requests and provides data reports.
• Provides support to team members to ensure functional requirements meet business needs.
• Optimizes effectiveness of financial systems through workflow analysis, data collection/reporting, and technical reporting.
• Collaborates with business owners to increase utilization of financial systems by mapping requirements to functionality.
• Other duties as required.

• Supervises the day‑to‑day work assignments of FS Analyst professionals, as needed.
• Provides verbal and written performance feedback to FS Analyst professionals, as needed.
• Acts as a mentor to FS Analyst professionals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience), required.
• Master’s degree, preferred.

• Seven (7) or more years of experience with financial systems, required with a degree.
• Eleven (11) or more years of experience with financial systems, required without a degree.
• Experience with in a professional services firm such as accounting, financial services, or business advisory, preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), required.
• Proficient in People Soft Financials (query and reporting functions), preferred.
• Proficient in Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (One Stream, Hyperion, COGNOS, Business…
