Mortgage Banker
First Merchants Bank is seeking a Mortgage Banker to join our team! This position handles prospective customer and existing client mortgage needs. Responsibilities include initial consultation, financial information review, and inputting files into our Mortgage Loan Origination System. The Mortgage Banker discusses client needs, recommends suitable loan products, assists in assembling complete loan packages, and collaborates with the underwriting team throughout the loan process.
Professional judgment is essential to identify good risk opportunities for the organization.
- Develop mortgage loan business using referral sources.
- Build and maintain community relationships.
- Provide excellent customer service from approval to closing, ensuring all underwriting requirements are met.
- Market and prospect for new referral sources such as Realtors, Builders, and Centers of Influence (COI).
- Expand internal and external referral networks to grow business.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of experience self-sourcing leads in financial services.
- Ability to travel within the assigned region.
- Base pay plus bonuses.
