A major manufacturing facility located near Circleville, Ohio (Greater Columbus area) is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of capital improvement projects within a large-scale production environment.
This role focuses on the engineering, installation, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure and systems within a manufacturing plant
, supporting the implementation of new production equipment and upgrades to existing operations.
Unlike design-focused roles, this position is centred on hands‑on project execution inside an operating facility
, working closely with operations teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and ready for production start‑up.
Relocation support is available for candidates located more than 60 miles from the facility
.
The Electrical Project Engineer will lead electrical engineering activities associated with capital projects
, ensuring systems are properly specified, installed, and integrated into the wider plant infrastructure.
Projects will typically involve six‑figure CAPEX investments and will require strong coordination with operations, maintenance teams, contractors, and automation specialists.
The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing new production lines online
, ensuring all electrical systems are configured and functioning correctly prior to operational start‑up.
- Lead the electrical scope of capital engineering projects within a manufacturing environment
- Develop project scopes, technical specifications, and electrical design requirements
- Support the selection and integration of electrical equipment, control panels, and plant power systems
- Manage six‑figure CAPEX electrical projects from concept through installation and commissioning
- Coordinate electrical contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee on‑site installation and commissioning activities
- Ensure electrical systems integrate effectively with plant automation and control systems
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to optimise system performance and reliability
- Track project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure projects remain on schedule and within approved spend
This role requires engineers with practical experience delivering electrical projects inside manufacturing or industrial plants

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years of engineering experience
, including 5+ years delivering capital engineering projects - Proven experience delivering six‑figure CAPEX projects within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of electrical systems used in production facilities
- Experience working with industrial power systems, plant electrical infrastructure, and equipment installation
- Familiarity with PLC systems and industrial automation environments
- Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross‑functional project stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and operational teams
- Candidates must have hands‑on project delivery experience within manufacturing or industrial facilities
- Experience must include time spent on site overseeing installations and commissioning
- This is not a remote project management role
