Civil Engineer

Savko is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. This position supports construction and materials operations throughout the Central Ohio area and works directly with owners, field personnel, and other team members to ensure projects meet design, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Savko is an 80-year-old, family-owned and operated construction and material supply business based in Columbus, Ohio. We are known for quality work, technical expertise, and long-term relationships.

• Perform civil engineering tasks supporting construction and materials operations
• Review and evaluate project materials, plans, and specifications for compliance
• Ensure work complies with ODOT requirements and applicable standards
• Prepare clear, accurate documentation, reports, and recommendations
• Coordinate directly with owners, field personnel, inspectors, and internal team members
• Support construction activities through field observations, analysis, and technical guidance
• Collaborate in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering or related construction support roles
• Familiarity with construction materials, site development, and infrastructure projects
• Working knowledge of ODOT requirements and roadway or heavy civil projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
• Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with field testing, inspection, or materials evaluation a plus
