Seeking a highly motivated Ph.D.

-level Mechanical Engineer to support advanced military and defense system development. This role focuses on high-impact projects involving weapons systems, autonomous platforms, thermal management solutions, high-performance materials, and complex mechanical system design.

Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical system design, analysis, and prototyping for advanced defense applications
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA), dynamic modeling, and thermal/fluid simulations
  • Collaborate on the development of novel materials, actuation systems, and energy-efficient designs
  • Translate high-level technical requirements into manufacturable mechanical systems
  • Author and present technical reports, white papers, and design documentation for stakeholders and government agencies
  • Support proposal development and technical responses for DoD-funded programs (e.g., SBIR/STTR, DARPA, ONR)
  • Ensure designs comply with MIL-STD specifications and environmental requirements
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to long-term technology strategy
Mechanical Engineer Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics)
  • 10+ years of experience in research-driven or defense-oriented engineering roles
  • Strong foundation in structural mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, or system integration
  • Proficiency with engineering tools such as Solid Works, ANSYS, COMSOL, MATLAB, or equivalent
  • Experience supporting defense or government research programs
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience with additive manufacturing, composites, or micro-mechanical systems (preferred)
  • Knowledge of military standards (MIL-STD, MIL-SPEC) (preferred)
  • Hands-on prototyping, testing, or laboratory experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies and the DoD acquisition lifecycle (preferred)
