We are seeking a Project Mechanical Engineer to lead capital and process improvement projects. This role is responsible for scoping, engineering, designing, and installing both new systems and modifications to existing processes within a dynamic plant environment.

This position carries a strong emphasis on mechanical controls engineering
, ensuring seamless integration between mechanical systems, automation, instrumentation, and control strategies. You will play a critical role in aligning mechanical design with operational performance, safety standards, and plant control system requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical and mechanical-controls design efforts, including equipment selection, specifications, system layouts, and integration with automation and control systems.
  • Develop project scopes, secure engineering and construction bids, and manage capital authorization requests (ACTs).
  • Oversee construction activities, coordinate outages, and support system startup and commissioning.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring delivery within approved constraints.
  • Track spending throughout the project lifecycle and communicate financial trends to stakeholders.
  • Conceptualize new systems and process modifications, effectively communicating technical plans to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Develop and implement operating procedures and training programs to strengthen maintenance and operations capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of project or capital engineering experience, ideally within chemical or resin manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical controls engineering and system integration.
