Overview
Engtal is partnering with a well-established North American manufacturer supporting critical infrastructure and environmental solutions across multiple industries. With a large U.S. plant network and ongoing investment in automation, they are expanding their controls engineering team supporting manufacturing facilities across the region.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll lead electrical and automation projects, support plant operations, and drive improvements in safety, efficiency, and system performance across multiple sites.
What you’ll do- Lead controls and electrical upgrades, new equipment installations, and automation improvements across manufacturing facilities
- Design electrical panels, schematics, and system layouts using AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical
- Develop and modify PLC, HMI, and drive programs (Allen-Bradley / Siemens environments)
- Support commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing of OEM and in-house equipment
- Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting support to production plants
- Identify opportunities for automation, robotics, data collection, and energy/safety improvements
- Coordinate contractors and support equipment installations
- Mentor junior controls engineers and support plant teams
- 7+ years in controls or electrical automation within manufacturing environments
- Strong PLC/HMI programming experience (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens)
- Experience with AC/DC drives, servo motion, and industrial automation systems
- Electrical design experience (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)
- Background supporting production equipment, upgrades, or plant projects
- Comfortable traveling to manufacturing sites and working cross-functionally
- Stable, growing manufacturing organization with long-term investment in automation
- Broad technical scope - PLCs, drives, robotics, electrical design, plant systems
- High ownership and visibility across multiple facilities

- ~35% travel to U.S. manufacturing facilities (higher during initial onboarding period)
