Controls Engineer

Overview

Engtal is partnering with a well-established North American manufacturer supporting critical infrastructure and environmental solutions across multiple industries. With a large U.S. plant network and ongoing investment in automation, they are expanding their controls engineering team supporting manufacturing facilities across the region.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll lead electrical and automation projects, support plant operations, and drive improvements in safety, efficiency, and system performance across multiple sites.

• Lead controls and electrical upgrades, new equipment installations, and automation improvements across manufacturing facilities
• Design electrical panels, schematics, and system layouts using AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical
• Develop and modify PLC, HMI, and drive programs (Allen-Bradley / Siemens environments)
• Support commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing of OEM and in-house equipment
• Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting support to production plants
• Identify opportunities for automation, robotics, data collection, and energy/safety improvements
• Coordinate contractors and support equipment installations
• Mentor junior controls engineers and support plant teams

• 7+ years in controls or electrical automation within manufacturing environments
• Strong PLC/HMI programming experience (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens)
• Experience with AC/DC drives, servo motion, and industrial automation systems
• Electrical design experience (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)
• Background supporting production equipment, upgrades, or plant projects
• Comfortable traveling to manufacturing sites and working cross-functionally
