We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to play a key role on our ODOT Statewide Overhead Sign inspections contract. This candidate can be located in Lexington, KY;
Cleveland or Columbus, OH; or Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate will have experience in ancillary structure inspection and ancillary structure design/repair design. This position requires the ability to manage projects, liaise with clients and government agencies, and perform both structural inspections and design. This is a great opportunity for a technically driven professional seeking career growth. The Project Manager plans, designs, and directs projects by performing the following duties.
This candidate must have a Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
Typical
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Responsible for projects of varying size and complexity from inception to completion.
- Takes an active role in contract negotiations, project planning, project quality, and project profitability.
- Oversees project budgets.
- Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
- Provides leadership in client management, proposal preparation, project scoping and estimating project costs.
- Responsible for maintaining meaningful relationships with clients.
- Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Directs and supervises the work of project teams and support staff.
- Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
- Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
- This position can require up to 50% travel.

Qualifications Education and/or
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- 5 years or more experience in project management.
- Experience in ancillary structure inspection strongly preferred.
- Experience in ancillary structure design/repair design a plus.
- Must have a Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
