About the jobThe Data Center team designs and operates sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and HVAC systems. Facility Technicians operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions, including heating and cooling, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems. You will read blueprints/schematics, conduct tours of systems, assess their working order, and assist senior technicians as needed. You will develop approaches to reducing operational costs while improving overall data center efficiency, ensuring environmental and safety standards are met, and managing performance issues or outages to minimize recovery time.

Salary and benefitsThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$189,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share the specific range for your location during the hiring process. Compensation details listed reflect base salary only; bonus, equity, and benefits are separate. Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in data center operations or other relevant operational experience in non-DC industries (e.g., power generation, HVAC, industrial manufacturing, military, oil and gas, maritime, chemical clusters, etc.).
- 2 years of experience managing technical teams and vendors responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure and components.
- Master’s degree in an Engineering field.
- Experience collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Lead a team; set and communicate individual and team priorities aligned to organizational goals. Meet regularly to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
- Ensure team members follow work processes and guidelines; ensure all sites follow facility, maintenance, and standard programs; recommend DC improvements.
- Monitor data center systems operation, control site activities to minimize risk, and respond to excursions or emergency procedures.
- Develop strategies to improve efficiency, minimize cost, and reduce environmental impact. Validate and improve processes for equipment operations, and perform and analyze compliance checks for data centers globally.
- Collaborate with partner teams and project leads to set and implement short- and long-term strategies.
