The project focus will be on mission-critical data center projects. This position is a direct hire into our Mission Critical team, operating within a multibillion-dollar industry that is expanding rapidly. Data Centers are a key market for Burns & McDonnell, highlighted by several industry articles. Our Mission Critical practice involves collaborative work across various departments internationally.
Specific Areas Of Responsibility Include:
- Assisting Project Managers with project execution, deliverables, quality, schedule, contracts, proposals, and client communication.
- Managing contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and claims.
- Supporting project reporting, risk assessment, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Enforcing standards and best practices.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- At least 7 years of related mechanical design experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles, standards, and codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D rendering software, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- EIT certification with a goal to attain a PE license.
Preferred:
- Experience with data centers or telecommunication facilities.
- Familiarity with CFD modeling software like Autodesk CFD or 6
Sigma, especially for data centers. - Knowledge of electrical design for critical facilities.
- Ability to write mechanical equipment specifications.
- Understanding of other building systems and coordination.
