Burns & McDonnell's Power global practice seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to work on design and construction of power generation facilities, including fossil, hydrogen, solar, nuclear, and energy storage. Projects also include decarbonization, mining, and gas compression. The role involves systems such as generators, motors, PV panels, inverters, batteries, transformers, switch gear, motor control centers, and more.

Yes, 25% of the time.
- Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
- Modify and review production drawings.
- Design electrical components for project needs and requirements set forth by the project managers.
- Apply knowledge of common electrical engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
- Research and compile project‑related data as required by the project managers.
- Utilize design software tools to perform engineering calculations and physical plant designs.
- Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
- Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations in support of project execution.
- Act as a field engineer on construction sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related degree from an ABET‑accredited program, and 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
- OR bachelor's degree in electrical or related engineering technology from an ABET‑accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
- OR master's degree in electrical engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
- Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including team building, collaboration, and organization.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Micro Station, 2D and 3D rendering programs, and other analysis programs.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred;
Professional Engineer (PE) license encouraged.
