About This RoleThe Assistant Project Manager II (APM II) will assist/support the Project Manageraalada on project tasks as assigned, follow‑up on deliverables, and review with the PM. The position will coordinate engineering, estimating, project controls, client presentations, procurement and construction activities during the development and execution phases of the project. Work assignments may include supporting multiple projects concurrently. While not otherwise involved in project‑specific work, the APM II will support other project and proposal efforts, or may work with or do rotations with the various operational support groups.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Coordinate engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement and construction activities during the development and execution phases of the project
- Assist the PM in developing the initial project schedule with engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement and construction management personnel
- Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews
- Work with procurement to develop subcontractor and vendor scopes of work and schedule exhibits to the contracts for PM review before processing
- Collaborate with Safety personnel on all safety‑related issues, including development and implementation of the project‑specific safety plan, incident reporting and investigation support
- Assist the PM with project schedule and prepare monthly project review reports for the project management team and Senior Management
- Support the project by conducting financial reviews and closeouts on a monthly basis
- Assist with RFI submittals using QISG’s document management system
- Provide feedback to improve the quality of all technical, commercial and administrative deliverables for projects
- Assist in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages
- Monitor progress of overall design, procurement and construction of the project
- Facilitate Project Close‑Out and Warranty administration
- Perform post‑construction cost review and reporting and participate in lessons learned
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the PM, including acting as PM when the PM is unavailable (when deemed qualified by PM/Operations Director)
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or equivalent field; equivalent work experience, or a combination of work and education, may be substituted
- 2+ years of construction project experience, including various aspects of construction planning and management such as engineering, estimating, bidding, procuring, scheduling, cost control, document control, etc.
- Prior experience in EPC/design build and thezea industry (substation, transmission & distribution)
- Self‑starter
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem‑evaluation and solving skills
- Understanding of the project design process for projects
- Understanding of the integrated EPC process
- Understanding of construction means and methods
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with other team members
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Familiarity with estimating, scheduling and project management software and processes
