Transportation Technician 1, Office of Materials Management What You Will Do
- Review shop drawings and other documentation to determine compliance of fabrication of steel girders and other bridge components
- Inspect welds, bolt holes, and other connections of steel members
- Inspect protective coatings
- Work with others to determine resolution of failed inspections and subsequently reinspect failed components
- Apply ODOT specifications and supplemental specifications
- Conduct quality control inspections of facilities and processes for fabrication and coatings
- Travel with State vehicle within Ohio and other states

Qualifications5 yrs. engineering related technical experience in simple construction/ rehabilitation/maintenance projects or planning & design of simple civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.

- Or 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Technical Specialist, 85871, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.
- Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
