Civil Engineer – Utility Infrastructure (Entry Level)

Join Burgess & Niple, a trusted A/E firm located in Columbus, OH, to support municipal and city infrastructure projects. This entry‑level role offers the chance to work with experienced EITs and professionals in a collaborative environment.

• Assist with utility infrastructure field services, including flow monitor installation, data analysis, smoke testing, and dyed water testing for municipal improvement projects.
• Support design tasks for storm sewers, waterlines, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects, and quantity takeoff with cost estimation.
• Collaborate with EITs and senior civil engineers on project documentation and technical design.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, or equivalent engineering program from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Engineer Intern (EI) registration in the state of Ohio.
• 0-4 years of related engineering experience.
• Excellent communication skills and detail‑oriented.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
