Senior ITS Engineer – WSP USA

WSP is recruiting a Senior ITS Engineer to support projects within the National Business Line. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support a diverse portfolio of projects across the U.S., collaborating with local offices and international teams. The position is open to all U.S. locations with optional remote flexibility. Travel required 10‑25% for projects and business development.

• Lead business development and project/task management.
• Conduct research and analysis of industry best practices, new product/service offerings, and trends.
• Develop policy guidance and implementation plans.
• Create innovative concepts and solutions for clients.
• Author reports and white papers.
• Support connected & automated vehicle issues and other leading‑edge transportation technology projects.

• Deep subject matter expertise.
• Proven ability to build and sustain client relationships.
• Experience managing complex project delivery.

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in one or more states.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the transportation industry with increasing responsibility.
• At least 5 years experience with ITS and transportation technologies.
• U.S. work authorization.
• Adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.

• Master’s degree in transportation, engineering or related field.
• Experience implementing and managing ITS, V2X, and other innovative systems for state, local, and/or federal DOTs.
• Professional licensure and experience working in multiple states.
• Staff management experience.
• Active engagement in relevant industry organizations.
