Project Planner/ Senior Planner
Location:
Columbus, Cincinnati, or Cleveland, OH
Our Planning and Economic Development group helps our clients stay ahead of the curve by finding innovative solutions to everyday problems. Our planning group specializes in rural and urban redevelopment, sub-area plans, urban design, strategic investment, economic development, and land-use planning.
We are looking for a supportive and energetic project planner who shares our interest in improving community quality of life. Candidates should value community engagement, work well collaboratively, and be passionate about providing informed, innovative strategies.
Responsibilities
- Preparing communication and outreach materials for planning processes, including print and online tools
- Supporting public workshops and events, including material preparation and facilitation
- Researching community conditions and trends, presenting information clearly in various formats
- Drafting and delivering presentations to clients, stakeholders, and the public
- Creating maps and graphics to convey key data and tell community stories
- Drafting accessible planning documents and reports
- Editing and formatting plans and related documents
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Supporting client and business development efforts
- Identifying project opportunities in Indiana and Ohio
- Contributing to proposal content, including budgets and scopes
- Mentoring staff and supporting departmental projects
Qualifications
- 8+ years in Community Planning, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related fields
- Project management experience required
- AICP accreditation preferred
- Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Arc View, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and funding opportunities
