ERS Power Study Electrical Engineer
Vertiv is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support all types of power systems and conduct comprehensive power studies. The role is based in Westerville, OH and may require occasional travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities- Support project scope and engineering studies for power systems.
- Perform short‑circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and arc‑flash studies.
- Assist in gathering field data and documenting results.
- Conduct reliability, harmonics, and load‑flow studies.
- Document electrical power system configuration, equipment ratings, and settings.
- Support measurement and reporting for EMF, voltage, and power‑quality projects.
- Prepare estimates and take‑offs for engineering study proposals.
- Provide training and support to team members on power‑system tools and procedures.
- Assist in developing policies and procedures for power‑system studies.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Preferred knowledge of FE exam (must be passed within 12 months of hire).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and night shifts.
- Valid driver’s license; physical ability to stand, walk, and lift 25–50 lbs.
- Capacity to work at a computer with requirements for vision and focus.
- Light lifting (5–25 lbs).
- Medium lifting (30–45 lbs).
- Heavy lifting (over 50 lbs).
- Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, climbing stairs or ladders.
- Frequent driving (car, van, truck).
- Extreme cold (100°F).
- Medium to high noise levels requiring shouting to be heard.
- Work around moving machinery (fork‑lifts, tractors).
- Use of protective equipment: earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask.
- Outdoor work with exposure to weather.
- Estimated travel: up to 25%.
