Position OverviewThe Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism in the Department of Internal Medicine is actively recruiting a research faculty with interest and/or expertise in endocrinology related research. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research aimed at understanding and treating endocrinology disorders, leveraging our state‑of‑the‑art facilities and collaborative environment. In addition to research responsibilities, the role involves active engagement in teaching and mentoring, shaping the next generation of endocrinology specialists through lectures, seminars, and hands‑on training.
The candidate will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, engineers, and basic scientists, fostering a synergistic approach to endocrinology research.
- Conceptualize, plan, design, implement, and conduct research studies in endocrinology, including endocrinology disorders, diabetes, metabolism, endocrine cancer, reproductive endocrinology, lipids, osteoporosis, and neuroendocrine.
- Develop and write grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding to support the research program; obtain and maintain NIH R01 or equivalent funding.
- Write and publish research in high‑quality peer‑reviewed scientific journals; attend and present research at national and international scientific conferences; develop a national and international scholarly reputation.
- Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees; participate in Department, College and University committees and initiatives.
- PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field.
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01 or Career Development Award).
- Academic experience is a plus.
- Qualify for an academic appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level – academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training experience.
