Senior Lecturer (12 month) – Special Education ABA Program
Position OverviewThe position for the Senior Lecturer (12 month) has the equivalent of 10 courses per academic year, depending on assigned supervision and administrative work. Responsibilities will include maintaining or modifying course content in CANVAS, providing timely feedback and grades on student assignments, holding weekly office hours, communicating with and supporting students and being alert to those falling behind. Teaching assignments may involve introductory, intermediate, or advanced graduate courses, and also include distance or online courses and curriculum development as required by course registration and scheduling.
The individual will also assist in supervising field placements, attend program and department faculty meetings, and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Maintain and modify course content in CANVAS.
- Provide timely feedback and grades on student assignments.
- Hold weekly office hours.
- Communicate with and support students, especially monitoring those falling behind.
- Teach introductory, intermediate, or advanced graduate courses, including distance or online courses.
- Assist in supervising field placements.
- Attend program and department faculty meetings.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching online courses.
- Successfully supervise students during field placements.
- Demonstrate skill in measuring behavior, identifying, and implementing evidence-based practices.
- Demonstrate familiarity with relevant accreditation and licensure requirements.
- Consistently attend and contribute to program and department faculty meetings.
- Consistently engage in ongoing professional development.
- PhD in Special Education or a relevant discipline, completed by date of hire.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential with expertise in ABA and experience supervising students interested in the BCBA.
