Position: Faculty (Open-Rank Tenure-Track) Research in the Division of Nephrology

Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus;

obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned a doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Position Overview

The Division of Nephrology Medicine is seeking a dynamic and accomplished researcher to join our esteemed faculty. The successful candidate will have a robust track record in Nephrology research and will contribute to cutting‑edge research aimed at understanding and treating kidney diseases. Leveraging our state‑of‑the‑art facilities and collaborative environment, the candidate will drive forward innovative research initiatives that translate into clinical practice.

In addition to research responsibilities, the role involves active engagement in teaching and mentoring through lectures, seminars, and hands‑on training, and offers opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, engineers, and basic scientists.

Education And Experience Requirements

The duties for this position include writing and publishing research in high quality peer reviewed scientific journals; attending and presenting research at national and international scientific conferences; developing a national and international scholarly reputation; instructing and mentoring junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees; and participating in department, college, and university committees and initiatives. The position also conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements, and conducts research studies in the area of Nephrology medicine;

develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain funding to support the research program; and obtains and maintains NIH RO1 or equivalent funding.
