Faculty (Open-Rank Tenure-Track) Research in the Division of Nephrology

Position OverviewThe Division of Nephrology Medicine is seeking a dynamic and accomplished researcher to join our esteemed faculty. The successful candidate will have a robust track record in Nephrology research. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research aimed at understanding and treating kidney diseases, leveraging our state‑of‑the‑art facilities and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to driving forward innovative research initiatives that can translate into clinical practice.
In addition to research responsibilities, the role involves active engagement in teaching and mentoring. The candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Nephrology specialists through lectures, seminars, and hands‑on training. This position also includes opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, engineers, and basic scientists, fostering a synergistic approach to Nephrology research.
Access to extensive institutional resources will support the candidate’s research endeavors, facilitating impactful discoveries and contributions to the field of Nephrology medicine.
Responsibilities- Write and publish research in high quality peer‑reviewed scientific journals.
- Attend and make presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences.
- Develop national and international scholarly reputation.
- Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees.
- Participate in department, college and university committees and initiatives.
- Conceptualize, plan, design, implement and conduct research studies in the area of Nephrology medicine.
- Develop and write grant proposals to seek and obtain funding to support the research program.
- Obtain and maintain NIH RO1 or equivalent funding.
Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) – persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure.
Education & Experience RequirementsDoctoral degree (field of study: Philosophy).
