Chesterton Academy of St. Benedict, a Catholic classical high school, seeks a part-time Humanities teacher to join our team starting in the academic year.
The successful candidate will be able to teach one or more of the following subjects:
Literature, Latin, Philosophy, Theology, and Drama. A bachelor's or master's degree is required. The candidate should understand and be able to teach using an integrated curriculum drawn from the great books which allows for the connection between the humanities and the arts/sciences.
The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.
Responsibilities- Teaching Humanities subjects.
- Participating in the House system, designed to promote character and virtue and to help students grow in holiness.
- Assisting in leading spiritual retreats and other school activities.
- Bachelor's or master's degree required.
- Knowledge of an integrated curriculum derived from the great books.
- Practical Catholic practice and willingness to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.
