Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, an Affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, empowers the young people who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens by providing high-quality and impactful out-of-school time programming for youth in grades K-12. BGCCO serves 4,000 youth per year throughout Central Ohio.

Job Status: Part Time Non-Exempt

Reports To: Regional Director of School Partnerships

Summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio (BGCCO) is committed to providing high-quality and impactful programming for youth in grades K-12. The Success Coach will directly engage with teens to foster a safe, enriching, and career-focused environment. With a caseload of up to 30 teens, the Success Coach will provide mentorship, facilitate engaging programs, and support youth in overcoming barriers to success.

Key Responsibilities
  • School Year (up to 28 hours per week during school year) Summer Programming hours (35- 40 hours per Week)
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure reliable support for youth and program operations.
  • Build trusting relationships with high school teens, supporting their personal, academic, and career development.
  • Facilitate engaging activities that promote Career & Workforce Readiness, safety, and positive youth development.
  • Track member progress through regular two-on-one check-ins and group meetings, addressing challenges and celebrating achievements.
  • Plan and implement structured programs aligned with teens' interests and career goals, ensuring meaningful engagement.
  • Encourage participation in daily programming and foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere for all teens.
  • Maintain accurate records of case notes, attendance, and other required documentation, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Provide individualized mentorship and support to Club members throughout their Club experience.
  • Engage non-member youth at the school to foster relationship-building and future recruitment opportunities.
  • Ensure a safe, supportive environment by monitoring program spaces and promoting safety, respect, and inclusivity.
  • Model leadership in behavior, conduct, and support of member development, maintaining high standards for youth engagement.
  • Assist with occasional events outside of regular program hours, ensuring successful execution and member participation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in teen engagement, youth development, or program facilitation.
  • Strong ability to connect with and motivate teens in a positive, strong, strength-based manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based tools.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Ability to engage actively with youth, including extended periods of movement.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
  • May be required to drive a Club van periodically (no CDL required).
