Job Title and Department

CEGE Semester Lecturer – Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering, College of Engineering.

Position Overview

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering is accepting applications for a part-time Lecturer appointment to serve as a co-instructor for CIVILEN 4002, one section in Fall 2026 semester and one section in Spring 2027 semester. CIVILENG 4002 is the second course in the two-course capstone sequence for the undergraduate civil engineering program and serves as the culminating design component of this capstone experience.

The duties of the co‑instructor focus on the integration of design and practice into the CIVILENG 4002 course. This includes, but is not limited to, developing course material, delivering lectures, grading assignments, participation in curriculum development, and course coordination.

CIVILENG 4002 is taught in‑person on the University’s main campus in Columbus. The class meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 – 7:35 pm each week. This scheduled time is the same in both Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.

The Ohio State University will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • MS degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  • Professional engineering license
  • 5 or more years experience in a civil engineering setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values
