Columbus School for Girls seeks to hire an energetic and creative Upper School Mathematics Teacher to begin in the academic year

Major Functions and Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of Upper School mathematics courses. Candidates should be qualified to teach in the following subject areas:
Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre-calculus, AP Calculus, and Statistics. In addition, post-AP and elective courses (Abstract Algebra, Differential Equations, Multi-variable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Great Theorems, and Mathematical Modeling) are offered in the Upper School. The ideal candidate would be qualified to teach two or more of the elective courses. - Lead an advisory group, which includes a social-emotional curriculum
- Collaborate regularly with members of the Mathematics Department to ensure a cohesive curriculum.
- Participate actively in the life of the school, including leading clubs and/or activities, chaperoning school trips, and possibly coaching.
- Potential leadership responsibilities such as Advisory, Club or Affinity/Alliance Groups, and roles such as Form Level Dean, Department Chair, or Center Director.
Experience, Characteristics, Qualities:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred - Experience teaching upper school students or strong interest in adolescent development

- Possesses facility with academic technology, excellent organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
- High emotional intelligence, strong cultural competence, and a demonstrated belief in the value of a diverse and multicultural community.
