Job Description: The Pharmacy Tech Adjunct position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The role involves delivering instruction and monitoring teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair or other leadership members. The incumbent must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicated material.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching assigned courses as scheduled, designing curriculum that fosters diversity and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Considering individual differences of students to support various learning activities.
- Participating in identifying students with academic or other needs and utilizing appropriate resources.
- Using technology appropriately and communicating expectations clearly.
- Keeping accurate records, maintaining attendance, submitting grades timely, and providing feedback.
- Distributing and maintaining accurate syllabi that meet departmental and college requirements.
- Conducting classes punctually and employing assessment techniques to measure student performance.
- Engaging in meetings for professional development and teaching duties.
Student Engagement and Advisement:
- Creating a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active learning and student-faculty interaction.
- Encouraging community among students and referring them to support services.

- Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members of the college community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
- Licensed and Certified Pharmacy Technician or Licensed Pharmacist.
- At least 1 year of teaching, training, or preceptor experience with current knowledge in the instructed areas.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to access work sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree.
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
- Experience with Blackboard or other LMS platforms.
Compensation: $55.88 per contact hour.
Contact Hours: Two hours equals one contact hour.
Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week.
