Engineering | Electrical and Computer Engineering The Post Doctoral Scholar conducts advanced research and development at the AI Edge Institute for Future Generation Edge Networks with a focus on wireless networks and machine learning. In addition to leading research initiatives, the postdoc is expected to collaborate closely with graduate students, faculty, and industry and DoD partners. Key responsibilities include shaping innovative research directions for the Institute, developing course modules, contributing to proposal development, and supporting NSF reporting requirements.##

Essential Duties
50% The Post Doctoral Scholar is responsible for conducting research in AI and networking-related areas that support and advance the goals of the AI Institute. This role assists in supervising students engaged in Institute research activities and contributes to the writing and editing of conference and journal publications.
20% The position supports education and workforce development initiatives by assisting faculty in creating educational modules, maintaining updated repositories, and working with Institute leadership to produce periodic reports and documentation required by the NSF.
20% The Post Doctoral Scholar collaborates closely with the Institute Director, Managing Director, and faculty codirectors overseeing Broader Participation, Education and Workforce Development, and Industry and DoD Outreach, as well as thrust leaders, to ensure ongoing interaction, coordination, and progress across research, broader participation, and educational activities. The role also assists in organizing Institute-wide seminars, annual workshops, and regular meetings.
10% Additionally, the Post Doctoral Scholar interfaces with industry and DoD partners, fostering collaboration through meetings, presentations, and joint engagement activities.
Qualifications
Required:
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Experience with research in communication networks and/or machine learning.
Prefer experience Experience in communication testbed development and optimization. Preferred Proficiency Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.##
