Oakstone Community School (OCS) is a public, chartered school in the state of Ohio serving students in grades 4 through high school. OCS specializes in educating students with disabilities, with a majority of students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) across a range of academic and functional levels. Our school offers a supportive, collaborative environment that includes on-site therapists and an engaged administrative team dedicated to student success.
Oakstone Community School anticipates two (2) full-time Intervention Specialist openings for the 2026–2027 school year. We are seeking compassionate, skilled educators who are passionate about working with students with disabilities and committed to providing individualized, evidence-based instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of academic and developmental needs
- Develop and implement data-driven interventions and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Delegate and oversee responsibilities of educational aides appropriately
- Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development
- Support positive behavior using evidence-based strategies
- Valid Ohio K–12 Intervention Specialist license required (must be fully licensed by the start of the school year)
- Ability to meet and maintain all Ohio licensure requirements
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders preferred
- Strong differentiation, classroom management, and collaboration skills
- Dual licensure (general education/intervention specialist) or subject‑area expertise preferred
- Ohio BCI and FBI background checks — To be completed only after an offer of employment has been extended and accepted.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification or recertification through the American Red Cross — (to be completed at the candidate’s own expense prior to the start of the school year)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Work Year: 185 days
- Salary: Based on experience; typically ranges from $42,000–$70,000 per year
The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Duties include standing, walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
