Position OverviewThe Department of Engineering Education (EED) at The Ohio State University invites applications for a part‑time Lecturer appointment to teach first‑year engineering courses. The appointment covers the following courses for the 2025‑26 academic year (starting January 2026):
- Standard Fundamentals of Engineering (ENGR 1181 & 1182) – two‑course sequence with classroom and lab components.
- Honors Fundamentals of Engineering (ENGR 1281 & 1282) – two‑course sequence with classroom and lab components.
- MATLAB (ENGR 1221) – stand‑alone course introducing programming and problem‐solving techniques in MATLAB.
All courses are taught in person on the University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio.
Performance Objectives- Present course material and guide students through assignments.
- Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
- Demonstrate commitment to student success.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors.
- Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Passion for teaching undergraduate engineering students.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with graduate teaching associates and undergraduate teaching assistants.
- Ph.D. in engineering or equivalent.
- Experience teaching in a learning setting, including K‑12 classroom experience or higher education teaching as an instructor of record or graduate teaching assistant.
