Application Process and RequirementsNote: You will be notified by e-mail when all items have arrived and your name is added to the substitute teacher list.
LicensureAnyone substituting for the Diocese of Columbus will need to obtain either a Standard Substitute Teaching License or a Temporary Non-Bachelor’s Degree Substitute Teaching License, if not already holding a teaching credential or non-tax certificate.

The Diocese will maintain your online substitute teaching application for two school years. Approved substitutes will receive an e-mail mid-July/early August of every school year asking if they wish to remain on the substitute teacher list for the new school year.
