Join to apply for the Educational Aide role at Upper Arlington City Schools located in Windermere Elementary School.
Position Details- Building:
Windermere Elementary School - Salary: $18.01–$19.72 per hour
- Day/Time: 5 hours per day
- Probationary Period: 120 workdays
- Employment Status:
Regular/Part‑time - FLSA Status:
Exempt - Reports to:
Classroom teacher, building principal, or other designee
- Supervise playground during recess, cafeteria during lunch, classrooms, computer facilities, and bus areas when teachers are absent.
- Monitor student behavior to ensure consistency with school rules, recommend disciplinary actions, and refer students to the principal or relevant teachers.
- Resolve minor conflicts between students and refer escalations appropriately.
- Use copy machine, laminating equipment, computers, and audiovisual equipment to reproduce instructional materials.
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce or extend learning activities and assist with teaching assignments.
- Assist in giving spelling tests and other assessments, and help students with computer‑based learning activities.
- Hang or arrange displays of student work or educational materials.
- Assist in maintaining records related to students by organizing and entering data.
- Contact parents to schedule appointments and obtain necessary information for teachers.
- Assist in contacting other personnel to arrange spaces or services.
- Help arrange field trips and schedule parent volunteers.
- High School diploma or higher.
- A valid educational aide certificate.
- Alternative qualifications acceptable if the superintendent or board deems appropriate.
- Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

- Skills that foster and facilitate learning and classroom management.

- Serve as a role model for students.
- Respond to routine questions and requests appropriately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Various office machines, laminator, overhead projector, computer/printer, television/DVD player, and subject‑specific equipment.
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
- Interaction with children experiencing dysregulation and/or trauma.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent movement around the workspace and throughout the school building.
Employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non‑prescribed controlled substances during the workplace throughout employment.
