The teacher, within the area of his/her professional expertise, will instruct students using methods that are consistent with the program(s) of studies adopted by the Board of Education. Our teachers work cooperatively with staff members to develop and implement effective educational programs and to deliver appropriate services to students.

• Implement programs of study
• Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
• Utilize instructional management systems models that increase student learning
• Monitor student progress toward mastery of instructional goals and objectives
• Communicate effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis
• Meet professional responsibilities
• Demonstrate competency in the knowledge and implementation of technology standards
• Provide curricula required by the City School district
• Base instruction on adopted curricula for the school
• Demonstrate accurate and current knowledge in subject field
• Employ a variety of instructional strategies to augment achievement
• Use content scope and sequence in planning
• Create and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning consistent with the school mission
• Follow established discipline procedures
• Establish procedures and rules that enhance learning
• Encourage student attendance
• Set high positive expectations for student performance
• Encourage and acknowledge individual student accomplishments and appropriate behavior
• Create and maintain an environment that supports learning and accommodates individual learning differences
• Communicate with parents and provide feedback on student work
• Organize teaching strategies to maximize instructional time
• Prepare and implement lesson plans to teach instructional objectives
• Follow grading policies and regulations and maintain accurate student records
• Follow confidentiality procedures regarding students, parents/guardians, and staff
• Adhere to laws, policies, rules, and regulations
• Perform duties punctually and maintain records

• Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license
• Proper endorsements as required
