Overview

The Ohio State University, Division of Human Genetics is seeking a dynamic genetic counselor for a clinical excellence faculty position in the growing clinical care area of Cancer genetics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge clinical care and research aimed at understanding and treating cancer, leveraging state‑of‑the‑art facilities and a collaborative environment. In addition to clinical and research responsibilities, the role involves active engagement in teaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities
  • Active participation in the provision of clinical genetic services in our cancer clinics.
  • Teaching genetic counseling graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Working on translational cancer genetics research programs.
  • Shaping the next generation of genetic counselors through lectures, seminars, and clinical rotation supervision.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, PhDs, and MDs, to foster a synergistic approach to cancer research and clinical care.
Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate or terminal degree in genetics, genetics counseling, or a related field.
  • Strong clinical experience in cancer genetics, including patient care and counseling.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience or potential to develop teaching skills in a university setting.
  • Active research interests in cancer genetics, with a record of scholarly publications and the ability to secure research funding.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
