Position:
Assistant Professor of Violin (9-month tenure-track)

- Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate violin majors, including applied violin, small ensembles, string pedagogy, and string literature.
- Advise and support graduate students in the String Area through academic guidance and mentorship.
- Contribute to the School of Music by participating in activities, faculty governance, and leadership within the Performance/String Area.
- Recruit and retain talented violin students to strengthen the program.
- Maintain an active professional profile through performances, recordings, publications, presentations, and other scholarly or creative activities.
- Build connections with pedagogical and performance organizations, fostering collaboration and professional development.
- Integrate AI into applied music instruction, applying it to pedagogy and performance to advance Ohio State's AI fluency initiative.
- Master of Music (MM) required;
Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) preferred. - Active performance career with potential for a strong creative and scholarly profile.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Ability and commitment to build connections with recognized pedagogical and performance organizations at local, regional, or national levels.
- Ability to collaborate and contribute to the intellectual and cultural life of the String Area, School of Music, and University.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in higher education.
- Representative record of professional performance achievements.
