OverviewThe Adjunct – Information Systems Technology position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting and evaluating students. The adjunct must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicated material.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses as scheduled and assume primary responsibility for overseeing curriculum in conjunction with department policies, ensuring rigor of programs and quality of instruction.
- Consider individual differences of students and design appropriate learning activities.
- Identify students with academic or other needs and respond by utilizing appropriate resources.
- Use technology appropriately and communicate expectations to students.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records in accordance with departmental policies.
- Maintain attendance records, submit grades timely, communicate progress feedback, and distribute accurate syllabi.
- Conduct classes punctually in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule.
- Employ appropriate assessment techniques to measure students’ performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
- Engage in periodic meetings with the department, lead instructor, and chairperson for teaching duties and professional development.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere encouraging active, collaborative learning and academic challenge.
- Maintain posted office hours per departmental policy.
- Use technology to assist communication with students.
- Encourage a sense of community among students.
- Refer students to appropriate student and academic support services.
- Foster and maintain a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.
- Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, 3 years of business experience working as project manager. - Preferred Qualifications:
IT-related project management responsibilities, Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP), and Agile Scrum Master (CSM). - Combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
- Classroom environment may include in-person or online modalities.

- Compensation: $56.88 per contact hour.
