Job Description: The Adjunct – English Second Language position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The incumbent must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicated material.

Essential Job Functions:

• Teaches assigned courses, ensuring curriculum rigor and quality of instruction.
• Designs and supports appropriate learning activities considering individual differences.
• Identifies students with academic or other needs and responds with appropriate resources.
• Uses technology effectively and communicates expectations clearly.
• Keeps accurate records, maintains attendance, submits grades timely, and provides feedback.
• Distributes and maintains syllabi aligning with departmental and college requirements.
• Conducts classes punctually and employs assessment techniques to measure student performance.
• Participates in departmental meetings and professional development activities.

Student Engagement & Advisement:

• Creates a positive classroom atmosphere encouraging active learning and interaction.
• Maintains office hours and uses technology for communication.
• Fosters a sense of community and advises students on programs and transfer options.
• Refers students to support services as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree from an accredited institution.
• Relevant teaching experience.

Additional Information:

• State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to access work sites.

Compensation Details:

• $55.88 per contact hour.
• Two hours equals one contact hour.
• Maximum of 12 contact hours per week.
