Job Description

The Adjunct position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment, emphasizing teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The role involves instructing and monitoring teaching effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair or leadership, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to engage large groups with complex material.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses as scheduled, designing inclusive curricula that foster talent and address socio-cultural issues of underrepresented groups.
  • Consider individual differences to support diverse learning activities.
  • Identify students with academic or other needs and connect them with appropriate resources.
  • Utilize technology effectively, communicate expectations clearly, and keep accurate records.
  • Maintain attendance, submit grades timely, and provide ongoing feedback to students.
  • Distribute and maintain accurate syllabi, conduct classes punctually, and adhere to schedules.
  • Employ assessment techniques to evaluate student performance and participate in professional development meetings.
  • Student Engagement & Advisement
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active, collaborative learning and interaction.
  • Foster a community of learners and refer students to support services as needed.
  • Culture of Respect
    • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all community members.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Psychology, or related fields.
    • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to access work sites.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior higher education teaching experience.
    Additional Comments
    • This is an in-person position; applicants should be near Columbus.
    • May involve teaching at off-campus sites or distance learning courses.
    Compensation Details
    • Pay: $55.88 per contact hour.
    • Contact Hour:
      Two hours equal one contact hour.
    • Maximum of 12 contact hours per week.
    • Part-time employment.
