**** Position Overview
** The  (VBS) in the  (CVM) at The Ohio State University (OSU), is seeking applicants for a research-intensive tenure-track faculty position
** in*
* ** Comparative and Translational Oncology with emphasis on bladder and genitourinary cancer research.
** This position for faculty who have evidence and impact consistent with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor is one of three ongoing recruitments as part of a cluster hire in conjunction with the OSU College of Medicine’s , and the  (OSUCCC) to enhance our collaborative and comparative approach to this key thematic area of cancer and cancer-related research.

The full-time tenure track faculty position is expected to be an outstanding scientist with an established comparative and/or translational research program. The CVM has established the  as a central focus of the college. The successful candidate will also have the unique opportunity to develop interdisciplinary collaborative research efforts in animal and human medicine that leverage expertise at the CVM, including the , the OSUCCC, College of Medicine, and  with the goal of advancing the understanding of bladder and genitourinary cancer biology and genetics and discovery of new therapeutic approaches to ultimately impacting veterinary and human patient outcomes.

Applicants will be expected to engage in collaborative efforts that will enhance and expand existing partnerships and incorporate training/mentorship of graduate students and post-docs. Requirements include a DVM or equivalent degree with a demonstrated record of, or high potential for, extramural funding and an active and impactful publication record. The successful applicant must also possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate effectiveness in teamwork.

This position will be an endowed chair in Comparative and Translational Oncology and Biomedical Research.

Performance Objectives The position is research intensive (approximately 75%) with an opportunity for collaborative research, teaching and mentoring (approximately 15%) and administrative or clinical service (approximately 10%).
* Didactic classroom teaching of graduate students and laboratory mentoring with the opportunity to teach veterinary professional students and residents.
* Participate in college, department, and graduate guidance committee work.
* Model and promote a culture of collegiality and academic citizenship.
* Adhere to external, university, college, and department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
** Education and Experience Requirements

*** DVM or equivalent degree.
* Track record of comparative and translational research success with a preferred focus on bladder and genitourinary cancer research that affect animals and people.
* Scholarly track-record consistent with rank.
* If participation in the clinical effort, the appropriate board-certification would be required.
* Desired*:
* PhD or comparable degree and experience.
* Demonstrated background in a One Health collaborative approach between animal (veterinary) and human cancer and biomedical research.
* Demonstrated expertise and support for investigator-initiated independent research.
* Evidence of PI, Co-PI and collaboration on research grants.
* Experience in the classroom and laboratory teaching.
* Evidence of mentoring (e.g. undergraduate and graduate students, post docs, and staff).
