Job Description

The Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center, is seeking an outstanding scientist for a tenure‑track/tenured faculty position at the Associate Professor level. The successful candidate should bring expertise in molecular, cellular and system biology approaches to study immunology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases. They should hold an MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent degree, have a record of achievement demonstrated by current‑grant funding (K, R01 or equivalent) and a publication record in leading immunology and infectious disease journals.

The mission is to build an academic pathology program recognized as a national leader in diagnostics, research and education. The new faculty member will maintain an impactful independent research program with extramural support, develop scientific collaborations with existing programs, and participate in teaching activities for medical and graduate students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. A supportive start‑up package and access to advanced laboratories (mass cytometry, flow cytometry, imaging, proteomics, genomics) are available.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain an independent research program with extramural funding.
  • Develop collaborations with existing programs within OSC and beyond.
  • Participate in teaching medical and graduate students.
  • Contribute to the department’s mission of high‑quality diagnostics, research, and education.
Qualifications
  • MD/PhD (or equivalent terminal degree).
  • Current research funding.
  • Demonstrated ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Proficient in grant writing and knowledge of funding mechanisms for research.
