Position Overview
General Surgeon with focus on complex abdominal wall surgery and hernia repair to join the Department of Surgery at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The candidate will serve as a faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and will be engaged in clinical and research activities within the Center for Abdominal Core Health, performing a high volume of operations in ambulatory/outpatient surgery centers.
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
- Provide surgical care for patients with simple and complex abdominal wall and hernia conditions at OSUWMC and affiliated outpatient centers.
- Actively participate in clinical and research projects within the Center for Abdominal Core Health.
- Engage in basic/translation science, health services research, or clinical trials related to abdominal wall surgery.
- Maintain surgical excellence and adhere to institutional clinical standards.
- Contribute to teaching, training, and mentorship of residents and fellows as part of the faculty role.
- Board certified in General Surgery.
- Successfully completed a General Surgery fellowship with a focus on abdominal wall surgery.
- Academic experience highly desired.
- Eligibility for Ohio State medical licensure.
- Qualify for academic appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor level; academic rank and salary will be commensurate with prior training and experience.
