Position: Physician - Pathology, Anatomic Pathology (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an anatomic pathologist to join the Department of Pathology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Positions are in the clinical and/or research track as described below.

Position is at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). Surgical Pathology is completely subspecialized to allow faculty to focus on areas of academic and clinical interest. The successful applicant will participate in clinical and/or collaborative translational research and in trainee teaching responsibilities. The department is a collegial and dynamic leader in digital pathology.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include clinical service in surgical pathology with a subspecialty focus, collaboration on translational research, and teaching trainees. Candidates should be prepared to participate in collaborative efforts and contribute to academic activities in alignment with the department’s subspecialization in surgical pathology.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • MD or DO or equivalent
  • Board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio
Faculty Definitions

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) – Individuals with titles such as assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. Requires a MD/DO/PhD or other terminal degree. Not eligible for tenure; appointed for terms of three to five years with possible reappointment. Primary focus is delivery of exemplary clinical care and may include teaching and/or research.

Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) – Individuals with titles such as assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have tenure. Primary focus is research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track MD/DO or MD/PhD may also be involved in clinical care.

Research Faculty (regardless of rank) – Individuals with titles such as research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. Requires a PhD or other terminal degree. Not eligible for tenure; appointed for terms of one to five years. Primary focus is research.
