Overview
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Orthopaedics is recruiting a fellowship trained Orthopaedic Adult Reconstructive Surgeon for our main campus/University Hospital located in Columbus, Ohio. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Position DetailsThe successful physician will be employed by OSUWMC and will begin with an immediate caseload and growth potential. The department and center are positioned for growth, including the development of a new University Hospital. DepartmentOverview
The Department of Orthopaedics operates across multiple locations, including University Hospital, OSU East Hospital, and over six ambulatory care locations in Central Ohio. We conducted over 13,000 surgical cases in fiscal year 2025 and have over 50 surgical providers. Our work covers a broad range from acute fractures to elective joint replacements.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe orthopaedic surgeon provides licensed medical care in the specialty area of orthopaedic surgery. Responsibilities include diagnosis, surgery, pre/post surgery care, staff education, collaboration on case management and clinical research. The surgeon manages complex and sometimes unpredictable situations and must be competent in technical clinical and surgical skills, cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve patients. The surgeon is expected to practice within the Medical Center standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols) and adhere to the Intensive Caring Value Statements.
Requirements- MD or DO
- Successful completion of an accredited Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program
- Successful completion of an accredited Orthopaedic Adult Reconstructive Fellowship
- Focus on routine and complex replacement and revision surgeries
- Interest in periprosthetic joint infections
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Eligible for an Ohio Medical License
