Position Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center is recruiting for a Director of Lung Transplant in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine to lead with a commitment to clinical, research, and educational missions. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Eligible candidates should be at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
The ideal candidate will have an emerging or established leadership background in Transplant Pulmonology at an academic center. Candidates should articulate a clear vision for a forward-thinking strategy aimed at enhancing growth in clinical operations and research/scholarship. The Director will demonstrate the ability to lead a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team within a high-volume lung transplant program with continuing growth.
ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a high-volume lung transplant program with growth in clinical operations and research. Collaborate across divisions and with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction. Promote excellence in patient care, education, and scholarly activity.
Division and Faculty ContextThe Division of Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine includes clinical opportunities in general pulmonary and critical care medicine, transplant pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and interventional pulmonary medicine, with clinical, translational, and basic research and educational opportunities. The division has grown in clinical operations and research enterprise.
Requirements- Associate or Professor Level will be considered
- Board Certified/Eligible in Adult Pulmonary Disease
- Board Certified/Eligible in Critical Care Medicine
- Fellowship trained in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
- Advanced training or experience in Lung Transplantation
- An active research program in basic, translational, clinical, or health services research is desirable
- Qualify for academic appointment at The Ohio State University – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.
Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. They will have earned a MD, DO, PhD or other terminal degree. Clinical faculty are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching and/or research.
Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. They will have earned a doctorate (PhD), MD, DO or other terminal degree. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD/DO or MD/PhD may also be involved in clinical care.
Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. They will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years. Their principal career focus is research.
