Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Wexner Medical Center seek a Movement Disorders Clinical Faculty member to join the Department of Neurology. The position is open rank/track and may be best suited for a junior to mid-career candidate. The division includes a team of physicians and advanced practice providers, with opportunities in subspecialty clinics and clinical/translational research.
Responsibilities- Evaluation and treatment of new and returning movement disorders patients
- Supervision of trainees in movement disorders assessments (medical students, residents, and fellows)
- Develop partnerships with referring physicians and hospitals in the community
- Clinical and some didactic teaching
- Inpatient service coverage; involvement in offering and managing advanced therapies (e.g., deep brain stimulation programming, botulinum toxin injections, and focused ultrasound) as appropriate
- MD or equivalent
- Completed 1 or more years of movement disorders fellowship
- Current Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (or board-eligible if within two years of residency)
- Unrestricted medical license in Ohio or the ability to obtain prior to appointment
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment with medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers
- Strong clinical teaching skills, bedside manner, professionalism, and excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
The Department of Neurology at OSU Wexner Medical Center includes 15 divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. The department offers multiple ambulatory facilities and hospitals, extensive subspecialty clinics, neurocritical care, a large stroke unit, and a strong telestroke network. The center supports ongoing clinical trials and a robust research portfolio with diverse training opportunities.
