The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a headache focused neurologist to join the Department of Neurology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
** Position Overview
** The Neurological Institute at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has an exciting opportunity in Headache Care. Ohio State became one of the first medical centers in the nation to integrate our five neuroscience-related departments (Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroscience, PM&R and Psychiatry) into a comprehensive neuroscience program. This opportunity has a clinical focus with outpatient, inpatient and infusion treatment capabilities and comes with an academic appointment commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.
The Headache Specialist will have unlimited growth potential including opportunities in clinical trials and research through our NIH-funded NEXT and NETT centers.
** Department/Division Overview
** The Department of Neurology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver unparalleled subspecialty care across all neurology disciplines, with services spanning 7 state-of-the-art ambulatory facilities and 3 hospitals. The department operates 27 groundbreaking multidisciplinary and personalized clinics, 3 comprehensive inpatient consultation services, 2 neurocritical care units (a 30-bed neurocritical care unit in University Hospital/new tower, and a 12-bed critical care unit combined with surgical critical care in The James Cancer Hospital), a 30-bed stroke ward, and an expanding tele-neurology service partnering with 7 regional hospitals.
Our telestroke network is among the largest in the nation, encompassing 32 affiliated hospitals. With over $15.5 million in annual research funding, OSU Neurology is at the forefront of discovering new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for neurological disorders. Our fundamental research portfolio focuses on neurogenetics, neuroimmunology and neurodegenerative medicine. Our pioneering Division of Neurology Health Services Research and Center for the Neurobiology of Aging and Resilience are trailblazers in the field.
This year alone, our faculty conducted over 320 clinical trials and studies, supported by a cutting-edge biorepository and brain bank. We're equally committed to education, offering 10 prestigious clinical fellowships and international training opportunities through the OSU Global Neurology Initiative, with partner programs in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. In 2024, our Neurology Residency Program was ranked in the top 15th percentile nationwide on the Doximity Residency Navigator list.
