Overview

Department of Radiology, Emergency Radiology (Open Rank/Track Faculty) – The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Wexner Medical Center seeks an Emergency Radiologist. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. We are interviewing candidates for all shifts; remote/hybrid opportunities are available for the right candidate. Weekend and holiday coverage is limited and equitably shared among faculty. Traditional in-person, 8am – 5pm coverage Monday – Friday for both part-time and full-time positions, with no evening or overnight call responsibilities.

Evening Shift: 4pm – 1am; 7 days on, 14 days off. Overnight Shift: 11pm - 8am; 7 days on, 21 days off.

Position Overview

The Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine/Wexner Medical Center is seeking candidates for faculty positions in Emergency Radiology who are passionate about collaborative, patient-centered clinical excellence, dedicated to advancing research and innovation, committed to education, and inspire inclusivity. The successful candidate will contribute to the Department’s ambition while upholding the organization’s mission and values. Responsibilities include patient care, research, and training graduate and postgraduate students.

The Division of Emergency Radiology focuses on diagnostic imaging in the Emergency Department, including interpretation and consultation on emergent studies in radiography, CT, Ultrasound, and MRI. Faculty have opportunities for advancement and work with multidisciplinary providers. Resources include imaging technology innovation, artificial intelligence, and health services research.

Department/Division Overview

The Department of Radiology is rapidly growing with expanded services at off-site imaging centers and ongoing renovations as part of a $3+ billion strategic expansion project. The main campus includes a state‑of‑the‑art 830‑bed hospital tower and related facilities; ambulatory care centers have been established and expanded citywide.

  • Main campus: new hospital tower, biomedical research tower, Health Sciences building
  • Ambulatory care centers in New Albany and Dublin; 16 established ambulatory centers

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Availability to work on-site in the Emergency Department as needed; some shifts may be remote
  • Contributes to day-to-day clinical operations of the Emergency Radiology Division
  • Provides high-quality patient care related to the Emergency Service
  • Education, Training, and Faculty Development:
    • Conducts clinical instruction, lectures, seminars, and related offerings; participates in regional and national activities
    • Collaborates to develop and refine medical student, resident, and fellow training opportunities
    • Serves as a mentor to residents, fellows, and faculty
  • Research and Scholarship:
    • Supports clinical and translational research; may serve as PI or Co-I
    • Serves on relevant departmental and college committees to advance research and innovation
Job Requirements
  • M.D., D.O., or Ph.D. in imaging or related field
  • Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (A , ABOR)
  • Completion of subspecialty fellowship in relevant Diagnostic Radiology discipline at time of appointment
  • Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Commitment to the diverse and inclusive culture of the College of Medicine, Medical Center, and University
