Position Overview:
The Neurological Institute at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has an exciting opportunity in Headache Care. Ohio State integrated five neuroscience-related departments into a comprehensive neuroscience program. This opportunity has a clinical focus with outpatient, inpatient and infusion treatment capabilities and comes with an academic appointment commensurate with professional experience and qualifications. The Headache Specialist will have growth potential including opportunities in clinical trials and research through NIH-funded NEXT and NETT centers.
Overview
The Department of Neurology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver subspecialty care across multiple clinics and facilities, with extensive inpatient and tele-neurology services. The department participates in a large telestroke network and has substantial research funding and clinical education opportunities.
In 2024, the Neurology Residency Program was ranked in the top 15th percentile nationwide on the Doximity Residency Navigator list.
- Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission – patient care, education, and clinical research.
- Evaluation and treatment of patients with headache and facial pain disorders.
- Be certified for and perform procedures such as onabotulinumtoxin
A injections and occipital nerve blocks. - Supervise trainees in headache and facial pain disorder assessments, including medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Develop partnerships with referring providers in the community.
- Clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
- General neurology inpatient consultation service time as assigned.
- MD or DO
- Successful completion of an accredited Neurology Residency Program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
- Completion of a Headache Fellowship
- Eligible for an Ohio Medical License
