Position: Physician - Department of Neurology, Neuromuscular- Autonomic Disorders (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio under the direction of Benjamin Segal, MD, Chair is recruiting a Fellowship Trained in Autonomic Disorders or Clinical Neuromuscular Physician with experience in the treatment and research of autonomic disorders, to join our growing team.

Position Overview

The position focus is primarily outpatient with some inpatient service.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Neuromuscular Disorders Center is internationally recognized for our clinical services. Similar accolades identify our clinical and laboratory based translational research.

Department/Division Overview

The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver unparalleled subspecialty care across all neurology disciplines, with services spanning 7 state‑of‑the‑art ambulatory facilities and 3 hospitals. The department operates 27 groundbreaking multidisciplinary and personalized clinics, 3 comprehensive inpatient consultation services, an 18‑bed university hospital neurocritical care unit and 12‑bed James hospital neuro and surgical critical care unit a 30‑bed stroke ward, and an expanding teleneurology service partnering with 7 regional hospitals.

Our telestroke network is among the largest in the nation, encompassing 32 affiliated hospitals. Opening in Spring of 2026, the new inpatient tower will include an expansion of the university hospital neurocritical care unit capacity to a 30‑bed, state‑of‑the‑art, neurocritical care unit. With over $15.5 million in annual research funding, OSU Neurology is at the forefront of discovering new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for neurological disorders.

Duties

and Responsibilities

Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission patient care, education, and clinical research. The individual selected for this position will have ample opportunities to contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits. Thet are expected to participate in the outpatient evaluation of patients with suspected autonomic disorders and peripheral neuropathy, supervise autonomic testing in the neurodiagnostic laboratory, and perform EMG and nerve conduction studies (NCS).

Other duties include but are not limited to representing the program or Department by participating in committees, conferences, and representing OSU at professional meetings and community speaking engagements.

Requirements
  • MD or DO
  • Successful completion of an accredited Neurology Residency Program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
  • Completion of Autonomic fellowship training or Neuromuscular Medicine or Clinical Neurophysiology with EMG neuromuscular emphasis training with clinical and research experience in autonomic medicine.
  • Eligible for an Ohio Medical License
